DMArchiver was a popular Python tool to retrieve all the direct messages, images and videos from your private Twitter conversations, at a time when Twitter offered no practical way to export them. It gathered more than 220 stars on GitHub before a Twitter API switch killed the approach it relied on, and the project is now archived.
